Here is a list of 8 RTS games that I think you should keep an eye on in 2023. Anything that I could pick for 9th and 10th place is not of good enough quality that I would recommend for you to keep an eye on.

4. Homeworld 3
5. WARNO
6. Tempest Rising
7. Sins of a solar empire 2
8. Starship troopers Terran command

Number 8.
Starship Troopers Terran Command. For everyone that watched the original movies, you will definitely feel at home when playing the real time strategy version of it. You can command both the humans and arachnids in both single player and multiplayer. It came out in the summer of 2022, but will be enjoying a massive update very soon. This year, the developers will expand upon the game with a brand new world, map editor and scenario editor. It is currently available on Steam

Number 7.
Sins of a solar empire 2.
The sequel to the 2008 success takes you to space where you will enjoy 4x gameplay coupled with exploration, expansion, exploitation through military ways, diplomacy, trade or cultural influence. There is a lot of focus on non military mechanics, but you can ofcourse turn space into you personal shooting range if you want to. It is currently in early access and is available on the epic store.

Number 6. Tempest Rising.
Tempest rising aims to take what made old RTS games such as the command and conquer series, and modernise it both graphically and mechanistically. It aims to appeal to the oldschool enjoyers of Command and conquer like titles, but also be of interest to the younger generation that didn’t grow up with those games.
Tempest rising will be available this year, but an exact date remains to be determined.

Number 5. WARNO.
The creators of the hit Wargame and steel division series have taken the best of both worlds and created WARNO. It goes back to the cold war and simulates a cold war gone hot scenario. It is currently in early access via steam and i set to be updated a lot this year, with new game modes and a campaign.

Number 4. Homeworld 3.
From the creators of Homeworld deserts of kharak comes a highly anticipated space RTS. Homeworld 3 aims to be a fast paced RTS that plays out in space. The maps are filled with structures from a lost civilization, the battles are highly tactical with line of sight and ballistics upgrades compared to previous titles, ships can be disabled and captured and there will be many classes of ships to build your own personalised fleet. It is set to release in 2023, but an exact date is yet to be determined.

Number 3. Company of heroes 3.
Company of heroes 3 will be the third installment in the highly successful company of heroes series. This slightly arcade but very fast paced and graphically beautiful RTS takes you back to world war 2. It will be an improvement upon company of heroes 2, with terrain elevation effects and armor profiles being added to the game, making a battle more dynamic and unit positioning much more important. It will also be available on console, which is a great way to beef up the playerbase. It is set to release on February 23rd 2023.

Number 2. Men of War 2.
Men of war 1 and the men of war assault squad series are highly succesfull mainly due to the modding community. Men of War 2 aims to take the old but gold games to the modern world while sticking to its core mechanics. It will take you to world war 2 with highly realistic battles, enjoyable single player campaigns, Multiplayer and of course amazing modding support. It is set to release in 2023, but an exact date is yet to be determined.

Number 1. Broken Arrow.
Broken arrow is a large scale real time modern warfare tactics game. You will settle your differences on the battlefield as US or Russian forces, make use of modern tanks, paradrop infantry into the chaos of battle and use tomahawks to obliterate your foes. There will be modability and a scenario editor. The game is set to release in 2023, but an exact date is yet to be determined.

One game that I recently played and found very enjoyable and in some ways better than modern day RTS games is World in Conflict and it will be a very entertaining game to play while you wait for things to release.
