First, The Mixamp is built directly into the the headset! Which means you can now simply tap your headset ear cup to turn your voice or game volume up. Which is incredible they went from having to use a separate piece of equipment to now all having that technology all inside.

Second, the headset sound is absolutely insane. The A50s come in with a great sound making you feel completely immersed in the gaming world or even in the movie you are watching while wearing them. Now one thing that is a little disappointing is the sound leakage that comes with this headset but it is a necessary evil to space out the drivers to get that spacing for the mix amp.

Third, this is one of astros comfiest headsets.If you are a glasses wearer then these are even better for you as they come with velour pads on the earcups which means they are soft and flexible enough to seal around the glasses and still create a seal. Even with all that going on the headset is still made mostly from plastic which makes it pretty light and easily adjustable. All in all this headset you could wear for those super long gaming sessions and not be uncomfortable!

Fourth, the microphone isn’t that great. While your voice will sound smooth and distinct from background noise, the A50’s microphone lacks the clarity and capability that you would expect from this headset. However the design is nice and simple and a slide up to mute function is always quite handy.

Lastly, the headset is kind of lacklustre with battery life. The headset only gives you around 8-10 hours. Which to be fair is still a good amount of time but if you’re on the streaming side of things and you forget to charge your headset one time then your headset could die mid stream on you. Although it only takes around 2 hours to charge with the usb cable or around 4 hours when you use the included dock.
