Nothing gets you more hyped for a game than a good trailer. The trailers on this list all gave us goose bumps when they were released. Get ready for the five best video game trailers of all time!
5. Assassin’s Creed Revelations – E3 Trailer
Assassin’s Creed Revelations has one of the best cinematic trailers ever made for a game. Everything from the choice of music to the beautiful cinematography and impressive animation quality makes it a joy to watch. We also love the way it ends by showing that old Ezio still has some fight in him left!
4. Halo 3 – ‘Believe’ Ad
There was so much hype surrounding the release of Halo 3 which Microsoft perfectly captured with this very original trailer. The painstakingly hand painted models convey so much emotion in this frozen battle scene. It still stands out as one of the most memorable trailers ever made and we’ve never seen anything like it since.
3. Dead Island – Announcement trailer
The Dead Island trailer is a modern piece of art that made a huge impact when it was released. The beautiful piano music combined with the brilliant concept of showing a zombie attack in reverse tells a haunting story. It might not have been entirely representative of the actual game but it remains one of the most emotional trailers we’ve ever seen.
2. Mass Effect 3 – Take Back Earth
The hype for the third Mass Effect game was huge by the time Bioware launched this awesome trailer. It’s a truly epic, visual treat that gets you in the right mood to stick it to the Reapers and take Earth back. Best of all, BioWare also made a FemShep version for gamers who played as a female character.
1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Announcement trailer
Gamers were worried when they heard Square Enix was bringing back Deus Ex. All those doubts melted away when this epic announcement trailer was released. The Blade Runner-esque world is brilliantly set up with great narration accompanied by a beautiful score. Besides setting up the story it also shows incredibly cool action that represent actual gameplay. This epic trailer manages to give us chills every time.
